IT WebQuiz 2001 for Secondary Schools

The IT WebQuiz 2001 for Secondary Schools, sponsored by the Hong Kong Computer Institute, is an associated event of the IT Contest 2001 for university students. It is organized with the aim to elevate the e-learning experience on web among secondary school students and to flourish the communication between the secondary and tertiary education sectors. All Secondary Schools are invited to form teams to participate in this web-based competition and get prepared for the new era of e-Learning.

The IT WebQuiz is open to teams of all secondary schools. School teams of up to five members of the same school can be formed and any three members of the teams will appear in the WebQuiz competition to be held on 11 June 2001 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  Each school can be represented by up to 2 teams.

The WebQuiz contains 80 questions which are selected from the designated electronic question banks of 4 books, made available by courtesy of Course Technology, a division of Thomson Learning. Participants are encouraged to read these books to prepare for the WebQuiz.

All teams are to answer as many questions as they can within 20 minutes on the web using the WebCT Version 3.0 e-learning platform. The best three teams with the highest scores will win the first three prizes.  The next 10 teams with the highest scores will win the outstanding awards.  Scores will not be deducted for giving wrong answers on the WebQuiz. In case of a tie, the team that uses the shorter time to complete the questions will win.
